Newsletter March 2017

We are now near the end of March which means you all need to be aware of some important dates of what is going to be happening at nursery.

Just a reminder that parent’s evenings are taking place Tuesday 25th April and Wednesday 26th April. If you cannot remember the slot that you have booked please check with your child’s key person.

Every year we hold a school leavers disco to say goodbye to all of our school leavers. We have some party games, a party tea and lots of fun. Our school leavers disco will be held on FRIDAY 14th JULY 6.30pm-7.30pm.

We have organised 2 separate trips, one for pre-schoolers and one for toddlers. The babies will be having a fun day held at nursery.

The BABIES will be having a 'fun day' at nursery which will be held on FRIDAY 2nd JUNE 1.30pm-3.30pm. We would like if would be able to join us. We will be doing lots of fun activities including playing in the ball pool, messy play and a party tea.

The TODDLERS will be having a day at PARADISE FOUND PARK FARM IN SAPCOTE. This will be held on MONDAY 8th May. We would like if would be able to join us for a fun day out. The coach will be leaving nursery at 9.30am and will return back at nursery at approx. 2.45pm. All children that do not usually attend nursery on a Monday must be here by 9.15am to ensure that the coach does not leave without you and please ensure that your child is collected from nursery by 3.00pm.

The PRESCHOOL children will also be having a day at ASH END FARM in STAFFORDSHIRE. This will be held on MONDAY 22nd May.  We would like if would be able to join us for a fun day out. The coach will be leaving nursery at 9.15am and will return back at nursery at approx. 3.00pm. All children that do not usually attend nursery on a Friday must be here by 9.00am to ensure that the coach does not leave without you and please ensure that your child is collected from nursery by 3.00pm.

Nursery will be providing all drinks, snacks and a packed lunch.

Please send the children in appropriate clothing for the weather. All children will also need wellingtons to wear or a change of shoes as they will get muddy whilst at the farm.

Hopefully the sun will shine in which case please sun cream your child before dropping them off at nursery as the mornings of trips become very busy.

Nursery would be grateful of a contribution of £12.00 per child if your child is going to be visiting the farm. Thank you. (Please could you pay this by cash to a member of staff?)

If any parent would like to come along and help us at the farm we would really appreciate the help. It really does make a big difference if we have some parents helping out.

If you would like to come along please let a member of staff know ASAP.

Please can you sign the attached permission slip allowing us to administer medication / inhalers / first aid where appropriate and return with your payment?

This year we are going to be having an open day / fun day. There will lots and lots here for your children to participate in so please come along to this. This will be held on Saturday 17th June 10am-4pm. The open day will include face painting, balloon modelling a BBQ and much more. Please feel free to bring grandparents, family members etc.

Thank you to all the parents that filled in the parent questionnaires. This is really helpful for us to try and better what we already are doing. Thank you so much for such lovely comments.

Reminders

  • Can you all please make sure that you are sticking to your session times? Morning session is 8am-1pm and afternoon session is 1pm-5.30pm. If you are bringing your child in early you will be asked to stay and wait with your child if none of the morning children have gone home as we cannot be over our number of children that we are able to have.
  • We are now offering early drop off and late pick up sessions 7.30am-8.00am and 5.30pm – 6.00pm – if you want to put your child’s name down for any of these and have not already done so please talk to a member of staff as these are only optional on a book in service. These hours will be available from 24th April at an extra charge.
  • Can you please make sure that you are sending your children in with spare clothes, we do keep topping our spares up but we often do not get them back if we send a child home in them? This means your children have to wear some clothes that they are often unhappy with.
  • If your child is accessing FEEE hours you need to ensure that they are in for the amount of hours that you are claiming for. If your child does not come in for the full amount there hours will have to be changed.

Also to keep you updated with any staff changes. As we are now becoming rather busy since opening the upstairs of the nursery this has now meant we need more staff in each day.

Kayleigh and Leah are still based in the baby room full time, Sam, Claire and Chloe are all in the toddler room full time and Becky and Amy are based within preschool room.

Sarah is still here 3 days a week usually a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Sarah will go within the room that needs that extra pair of hands.

We are now very lucky and have 4 staff coming in to do cover work on any of our busy days. This means that children are getting familiar with them and we do not have to really use agency staff now.

This seems to be working really well in the nursery. Our cover practitioners are Estelle, Becky Stef and still Nicola as she was before. All photos are up on the notice board in the porch.

Many Thanks.

Victoria and the girls.
